ESCORIAL

Doing research one day at The New York Public Library, we were enchanted by this 16th century Spanish textile of various members of the animal kingdom. We hand cut a stencil of the design and experimented with colors by hand, but it wasn't until a client commissioned it as a hand printed fabric for the banquette in their renovated Airstream trailer that this whimsical design was turned into a silkscreen to be one of our newest handprinted fabrics.
