IZMIR
One of the most successful and satisfying collaborations in decorative arts history was that between the Venetian and Ottoman empires. Italian Renaissance damasks were interpreted by Ottoman weavers, creating textile designs that seem familiar yet exotic, but always unique. We found a fragment of this design and hand cut a stencil of it, creating one of our favorite large scale prints.
