The inspiration for this design came from a traditional Japanese ranma, which is like a transom over a door. This design incorporates Shippo-tsunagi, which translates loosely as an endless circle of treasures. We hand cut a stencil of the design in two parts and were able to then make a silkscreen that can be hand printed in three colors.
